Fuck you dick head.
I see where you are coming from
you Idolize the republican party and therefore you don't want the truth to be told about the corruption of this government

he's got a point.  dealing with the loss is bad enough, but being hounded my lame reporters while trying to sort this all out is probably not helping anything
Wrong - it's the opposite of what you think... the family & other parties are engaging the media - to help put pressure on the government.

I am not associated with any party.  If anything, I would say independent if you forced me to pick.

And I don't give a fuck if you give a fuck.  Fuck.

Although it's tracgic that this person gave up a professional football career in order to serve, and ended in his death, I personally think it's the whole story in itself that is making it what it is.  Of course I want the truth, but I find it more disturbing that one specific soldier who had died in FF gets more attention than the hundreds of other "non-combat related" or FF incidents that the US Military doesn't seem to want to share with families.  We had a soldier in our town who had died in a "non-combat" incident in Afghanistan 1.5 yrs ago, and the military will not disclose why he had passed to the family.   It's obvious that there will be both sides of "passionate opinions" on the matter, but let's not forget what matters.  Sodliers are dying to do a job that they have accepted to do.  Death is a possibility when signing the papers, and they accept that possibility.  Thanks to all who have served.

i probably should have worded it a bit more carefully and or explained a bit more.
I personally would not enjoy the media coverage if this happened to someone i knew.  i understand that this guys family is actively engaging the media to help their cause *and i understand why they are doing it*

but im also thinking about how events can easily turn into ridiculous *as Usmarine says* "a fucking media circus"

so Pat Tillman's life is more important than the 3800+ other service members that have died?  I dont think so.  Should have stayed playing football.

10797 deaths from non-hostile action and about 8% were FF casualties

I know the numbers, but what I am asking is do you think every FF incident was reported to the families as FF?

Im so fed up with hearing about how much attention his story has gotten.  Bullshit senastionalism.  His life is not one iota different or more important than anybody else.  Its a tragedy,  but there are also thousands more that are getting 0 attention.

kind of hard to be shot in the head with 3 rounds from a .50 at close range.  after one round, you cease to have a forehead,  and any other rounds that follow an automatic birst  will land right and up from the orignal round.  So it would be kind of impossible to get that small a shot group with a .50 MG at close range on somebodys head. sensationalism.

Well, I don't care if he played pocket pool 24/7 and was famous for that. Fame means nothing to me. The story sort of developed on its own... the media got hold of a story - that a wealthy well off pro football player gave that all up - to serve his country. And, then payed the ultimate sacrifice. The army apparently went along with this heroic perfect end-game end-of-life picture painted by the media - until it was discovered there is more to it than what is upon the painted surface.

He recieved a posthumous promotion. The citation report accompanying his posthumous awards said that Tillman was killed by enemy forces and contained a detailed account of the supposed battle—which Army leadership knew had never taken place.

Pat Tillman's life is not more or no less important.  The cover ups and deception to turn his death into a recruiting tool is.

It's a hard case to find out the truth, unless someone who witnessed the actual event comes forth. At this point, the evidence is circumstanual. I imagine the soldiers are going to be tight-lip (hence none of them really spoke out) to protect each other from this fall-out. In a couple of years, somone will shed some light.

Fox News (califonia) reporter called me a couple years after I got out of the military and wanted to know if I particpated in hazing ritual where I was stationed. He found out because somebody talked and give him a video. So the moral of the story is someone will talk and the truth will be know.
