The actual latency is only a few ms faster, the big difference is with fps since you take a big load away from the CPU.
Areas where this piece of hardware really shines are servers with large environments with high player counts, sound familiar?
Because the CPU/onboard controllers no longer has to process large amount of netcode you get a boost.

Will you try doing a benchmark by running a couple of games with the card, then removing it (temporarily ofc) and see how it then runs, to give us some hard proof ?

E.g. CSS with screenshots of net_graph 3 which will show both latency, lag, loss and FPS and maybe COD4 with /showfps 1 ?

So do you honestly think it makes a difference?

My latency in games like CSS is 10-20 ms in denmark and 30-40 in the UK/Germany/France/Etc.

You don't need it to be faster than that -.-

And not to mention LAN is WAY faster than Internetz....

Only if you get a Killer NIC, 20$ ones aren't really a waste.

I think it's cool the way it works, the cpu doesn't need to run cycles for internet stuff anymore because it is offloaded to the NIC processor, which was made to do internet stuff and therefore does it faster/better than on-board could.  When I had mine in, it dropped 15 ping off my average ping on BF2 and downloads and page loading went noticeably faster as well.

Yes, that's perfect.  Pretty much any NIC will show an improvement over on-board.

I first experimented with NICs when I found a Netgear card in my garage from like eight years back when my dad used to make Windows 3.0/95/98 computers and sell them.
