So I was reading some forums the other day on Rock Band. Someone said they wished they would release a Christian version of it, because that is the music he listens to. Immediately, he was bashed out of the forums. The sheer thought seemed to piss of most of the people that visited the forum. The average response was anything from "How dare you try to force your religion upon us" to "Why would you alienate 90% of the country by only putting YOUR music on the game." There were also lots of replies about how much Christian Music sucks, is crap, and is too slow to be any fun.
This whole thing aggravated me. The OP never said he was forcing anyone to do anything they didn't want to. He just said he wished they had the music he liked available to him to play.
Personally, I felt the response was ridiculous for the statement made, whether you like Christian music or not.
I am a Christian, and I enjoy games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. I also pretty much only listen to Christian music. There are a number of reasons for that, but I won't get into THAT any further unless someone wants to know. The only time I listen to secular music is when I play these games. I am familiar with about half the songs, as I used to listen to everything. That doesn't ruin the songs I don't know. (In fact, my favorite GHII song to play is Less Talk More Rokk and I had never heard it, or the group that does it before.)
As far as the "All Christian Music is Crap" statements, I obviously don't agree. I don't think anyone else has to like it. I do, however, think people should try listening to some of it before they labeled it all as "crap." If you don't agree with it because it is Christian, fine. I would not, however, say all [Insert Secular Band Here] sucks, until I tried it though. I may choose not to listen to it due to message/content/etc, but I won't call it crap if it is actually good music.
Anyway, a few searches on here did not reveal any Christian Rock Band posts, so hopefully I am not rehashing something that already exists, in this, my First actual BF2s thread...
