What do you guys think? Will this allow us to play Crysis on all max settings without any flaws?

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

gah! what's the big difference between High and Very High anyways?
But I think it's a good idea, if you have $2000 to spare for your GFX. Personally, I'll wait for the 2GB RAM units.
I like pie.

Damn, didn't know Crysis would take even more than 3 of today's gpu's to run it all full capacity.

I bet you that people are going to spend like 1500 on cards and sys upgrades to run crysis at high, then Crysis will put an optimization patch out and 8600's will run it at very high... wouldnt that suck

but they actually are coming out with a patch that is supposed to optimize so we will see how the requirements change

I highly doubt the optimization will be as successful as you think.  I would expect no more than 5 more frames per second if this patch actually optimizes it.  An 8600 will never max Crysis.

And they're also going to make a patch that will upgrade the graphics, just like with far cry. They left some of the highest shaders out 'cos no one would be able run them yet with the current hardware.

well if my single 8800 GTS G92 can run crysis at all high no AA 1600x1200 with no hiccups, I think with 2 or three you could pump up the AA a little

I can run Crysis on its highest settings even the highest AA, with one 8800GT, and a quad, because crysis is optimized for core 2 quad and core 2 extreme. or maybes it that i just have a 13 inch CRT monitor at 1024x768 resoultion on DX10 and i get just under 30 frames aswell, and it runs fine except sometime it  crashes lol maybe thats a bad thing, im going to get the new 780i when it comes out and get another GT or another two :-)

Much, much worse.

My frame rate doubles when I drop down to 1024x768.

For those of you interested, I play on a system with a 6800GT, 3.0Ghz P4 CPU and 1GB RAM, I can activate some of the high and medium settings along with the low and it runs smoother than a silky treadmill, amazing when I only beat min reqs by 0.2 of a GHz on ma CPU

Lol 3 way sli... Overkill much?
I can run everything on high, with only a little fps lag in cinematics with... 8800gts 640, E6600 @ 2.4ghz (dual core), and 2gb of ram.
