my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe was a total failure and bomb.... never had more "interesting" motherboard than it was....
The chipset fan(s) was total failure ( total of 3 failed ones. first one died in two weeks).
Lost 350GB files because the board's BIOS went nuts and corrupted my filesystem 3 times.
Random reboots, crashes, squeal of deaths, BSODs.
Fail to boot sometimes when doing a "cold boot". worst one was 10 failed posts before it worked again. Failed to install 64bit operating system into my HDD.
Failed to boot from most of the SATA ports.
Unstable voltages. yes, 0.5v is quite dramatic shock for PC hardware.
Asus support failed.
RMA didn't help.
and the last thing that forced me upgrade my rig completely: It blew up two of my PSUs. one 750w and one 380w.
Asus support forums is full of similar horror stories with this board. you are a lucky guy elbekko...
I've had 8 A8N chipset mobos. All but one of them ran perfectly, the one that didn't had firmware issues and was RMA'd almost immediately - though I have been a victim of uber-long Asus RMA times in the past for an FX5800 I returned (I got a full refund after 8 months use - but they didn't give me it for 18 months, nor did they ever tell me I was going to be refunded, I just got chunk of money paid to me by Asus).
Don't use the hardware firewall on it though, it'll corrupt 90% of things you download through it.
