lmao... correct.  the infy fighting is better, but the lack of vehicles and hopelessly tiny maps kill it for me.
Jesus so if any games not like BF2, you guys assume it's shit?

BF2 isn't the be-all and end-all game fuckwits.

Once you've experienced nade-spamming on COD4, you'll never hate nade-spamming on BF2 again.

Why does everyone say that?

It's complete bullshit.

Maybe I'm playing on the "wrong" servers, but I never see nadespam.

What size servers do you play?  8v8 is too boring for me.

what does cod4 offer that bf2 doesn't? (in some form or another)

its just a more in-depth infy-only fps.  and i didn't say it was shit, more in-depth = better.  but the small maps and lack of vehicles just don't keep it as playable for as many hours as bf2.  bf2 has a much more diverse set of gameplay to get good at.  you can be a commander, jet, heli, aa, tank, and infy whore in bf2.  in cod, you can be, well, just an infy whore.

Different Game modes. Further customization. A multiplayer mode that doesnt require you to give up every waking moment to hit a high rank. A FUCKING SINGLE PLAYER STORY, WHICH IS ONE OF THE BEST SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGNS IN RECENT TIMES.

I bought COD4 because of my clan basically. I had no interest in it whatsoever when it first came out. I can get I/O in BF2 and I still enjoy the game after over 1100 hours on it/2 years of playing.

Still I got it 2 days ago. To start with I hated it, I hated the way I could empty an entire clip at someone but because they were whatever rank they were they shot me with their uber 1337 upgraded gun. That was one thing thats actually stuck with me today aswell. Not being arrogant but clearly alot of people on there couldn't play BF2. On kill cam the amount of times I saw people just spray their whole clip at me as I passed only to hit me with 2 bullets right at the end made me laugh. On BF2 they wouldn't stand a prayer if I jumped and went prone. That said I diligently played about 2 hrs today, and was getting top score at the end of each round above and beyond the fully ranked up level 55's I was playing against.

I dunno, if you like the CSS styled game this might appeal to you, that said, CSS is a far more skilled game. COD4 is more for people who aren't very good at FPS. I personally don't like it because of the fact you can get killed by some noob who sprays at your for a 'lucky' shot. In BF2 I/O that just doesn't happen.

BF2 offers what COD4 offers, it's smoother in gameplay (if you've got the right PC) and far more skill based IMO, I/O in BF2 is both tactical and about accuracy, in COD4 that just doesn't happen. On SnD all you get is camping, deathmatch its running around like crazy fragging until your fragged. Airstrikes and Choppers are also another crap way of getting points, but hey you gotta get a 6 killstreak! Everyone can have their own views, just stating how I feel about it.

BF2 > COD4 by a long way. And BF2 has been around for a long time now which says something about its durability as a game.

That said: Skill = How good you are = how often you kill/how often you die = how often you smile/how often you headbutt your own desk = how much fun you have playing.

I'm inclined to agree that skill is part of making a game fun, but it's not necessary. Yes, you will have more fun if you don't get killed by everyone and their hamster every fucking time, which requires at least a smidgeon of skill, but if you're slaughtering everyone you encounter, everyfuckingone of them, you probably get bored quite fast as well.

An appropriate amount of skill, not to little, not to much, enhances the fun, but it's optional, as everyone should know fun is mostly derived from graphics these days (Crysis, Halo 3).

yeah but how long does that last?  how many times can you play the same shit over and over before you get bored?  even bf2 single player is always different.  the single player cod is great, until you beat it once.  i admit the javelin kicks ass, and the stinger is sweet, but cmon, its the same friggen deal every time.

Not exactly pubbing was fun for about a month then for some reason it got really boring, I guess just scrubs who think they're hot shit or something. If you do get it I would get heavily into competition. Competition is what is going to keep this game alive for awhile. COD2 stayed alive and strong until COD4 came out. I see it staying around for awhile.

Just because you suck doesnt mean he will. Therefore your opinion on the game is pretty irrelevant, ur point is:

I get owned therefore its shit. Tbh thats not even a valid discussion point as that means nothing other than the fact u get owned.

False; Half-Life 2's single player story was over in 2 hours. I've never completed a single player as fast. Way too linear, you just couldn't go wrong.
