Better than the M3, looks nicer, better drive. Also, it handles better.
But the M3 and the RS4 would rape the Vette on handling. Duh.
The base Vette that was compared in the article I posted was at a loss here in Europe. Go to the USA and the Z06 is closer to the price bracket of the new M3 and the RS4. Take a Z06 against those two cars and watch the Corvette hand them their ass.mint-sauce-41 wrote:

I still say any company that puts the HP in the badge (z06 does) is ballsy. Only two cars that I know do shit like that: Veyron and Corvette
Because we all know that Horsepowers are all that matters..... yeah rightCapnNismo wrote:

Pointless bragging if you ask me tbh

Then why get the BMW? Do you want me to go get track times to disprove your BMW handling arguments, or should I just let you keep spouting off random BS.FloppY_ wrote:

M3 looks nicer, is classier, and probably a hell of a lot more reliable.
But that's just my opinion. Stats rarely mean shit.

word, why buy any of these cars because they're +-4 seconds or whatever faster on a track.... you buy these cars for the open road, for your time off or for your work-home thing.......or for all of that, this racetrack thing is rather pointless, if you wanna do that then join a racing team.FatherTed wrote:

A Corvette owner is statistically more likely to track his/her car versus an M3 driver.
+ M3 has way better built quality and "feel"FatherTed wrote:

I'd get a BMW over one any day. BMW's are quality cars, one of the thing I've noticed several reviews saying about the Corvette is that they're cheap and tacky. (build quality wise)
ewwwwww, fifth gear.
Top Gear with z06:
The M3:
As for lap times:
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 1.22.4
BMW M3 CSL 1.28.0
BMW M3 1.31.8
I'd go for the M3 though.

Hm. I'm not entirely sure HOW it can have more power, a bigger engine, and still use less fuel. Maybe the 'vette is just plain lighter?
Either way, it's sexy, and sounds awesome.

With more power, it doesn't take as much effort to keep the car at hwy speeds. Only 1200rpm to stay at 60mph in a Vette.
I still stand by my statement: M3 > Corvette
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
That's ok, you can have the slower car if you want.
Both are very nice. The Corvette is a little overly flashy for my tastes, but the M3 is a bit bland too (I just decided not a get a 3 series for precisely that reason - I got an Alfa 156 instead and am very glad I did, at least until it falls apart).

The LS7 is the 505hp version, and it weighs in at around $70k.BlackKoala wrote:
The Z06 baseline is only what...$5k more than the C6? Totally worth it for the extra numbers you'll get. It'll push it to 500HP, and still get you 16/26 MPG.
And nice call comparing the BMW and Chevy. Everyone just assumes the Vette's a POS car compared to a Beemer, but very few of them actually look at numbers, or look deeper than the manufacturer country. The Vette is a beautiful car, but it's not going to have the Luxury that the BMW will, as they are more concerned with performance that style. Function over Form in this case.
2009's LS9 is a reported 620hp supercharged 6.2L; that'll be the one to beat, but it'll be significantly more expensive.
The vette is a POS car compared to the beemer... great performance but crappy build quality and a cheap feel....BlackKoala wrote:

Sigh, what do you think? I live in a country where both cost over £ 150,000.00....Bertster7 wrote:

You're stuck in years past. The build quality and feel are quite good. The interior is the only thing lagging behind Euro cars. The car is fast off the line, fast in 0-60 times, fast 1/4 mile times, and has a top end speed previously seen only in astronomically expensive custom sports cars. In terms of handling, this car can run the track against any factory production sports car made.FloppY_ wrote:

Then you're just wildly generalising. I've driven an M3, it's not that special. I haven't driven a Corvette though, so I'm not really qualified to comment.FloppY_ wrote:

They're both very different cars though. One is a full on sports car, the other is a sports saloon - which would have more appeal to me, if only BMWs weren't so bland....
