You're an expert on the Q'uran are you? I certainly am not, although I attempted to read it (mindnumbingly boring) and have read much analysis of it. Perhaps you should ask an Imam how to interpret it because, as with most creeds, their holy book contains a large amount of symbolism and ambiguity. I could post a Q'uran quote that probably contradicts every quote you can muster - that's the nature of these silly books, they don't make much sense. I'll post something that perhaps you're not aware of:Nomiss wrote:
Issues? I don't like the Quran, a true Muslim believes that everything in the Quran is God's word and should be followed. I don't like the Quran, I think it's pure evil. I don't want an evil (in my opinion) friend. That's all, I wouldn't wanna be friends with a nazi either.

Anyone violating this Q'uranic sura is being a bad Muslim. This should allay your fears somewhat.... or not.
PS Likening muslims to nazis? There's someone else that springs to mind that reminds me of a xenophobic closed-minded insular nazi...

Calling me a xenophobic closed-minded nazi? I think you're a fucking idiot for calling me closed-minded, but whatever. I hate islam, Christianity, Judaism and a lot of other religions. I don't hate Arabs, Americans, Israelis, Japanese... I'm not a xenophobic nazi. You just keep saying that I'm close-minded, a nazi, xenophobic and have issues, so I'm just gonna ignore you in the future. Bye.

I do not like Muhammad for the simple reason that he murdered several tripes of Jews.
If so,, Who created the one who created God ?Nomiss wrote:

Hating religions is being closed-minded. I'm a staunch atheist and I don't hate religions. People can believe whatever the fuck they want. That's the beauty of living in the free world. I never stated who exactly I was referring to but whatever... (perhaps I should have said bigot)Nomiss wrote:

It must end with a God,, not the universe,, if you say it ends with the universe then you mean that there is no series at all.Nomiss wrote:

Nomiss, go away if you don't understand these things,, we won't blame you if you are an idiot.
It boils down to belief. Simply speaking, do you really beleive that Muhammad got a message from God. Who's to say he wasn't making it up?
What makes Muhammad so different from the thousands of people everyday throughout history who claim to have had contact with God?
Why was it that some people beleive Muhammad in the first place? He must've been a very convincing public speaker. I just don't understand why people beleive what he claims to have happened to him. It's not even realistic...
And if you say he was defending himself from Criminals, what about the Muslims who attacked and conquered the Middle East and eventually half of India and then alot of South East Asia, and Spain and so many other places.

Why did they attack so many countries?

The same could be said about any religion Mek. A lot of people probably thought Moses and Jesus were frauds too. You have to remember that in those days people believed in ghosts, fairies, angels and all manner of bullshit. As for the conquests - that is not a preserve of the Muslim faith. All faiths have done it apart from maybe the Buddhists. Crusades anyone?Mek-Izzle wrote:

Yeah, that's what I was going to add. All religions have done it. Yet, Islam claims to be peaceful. When it clearly has a history saying otherwise. Also, generally speaking. People were going against their religion when they killed in the name of it. Yet, Islam says it was acceptable to invade and convert as many people as possible. Muhammad would've wanted that.
Jesus/Buddha/Moses/Krishna whoever wouldn't have wanted that. Assuming they existed, of course.

Christianity claims to be peaceful also but it didn't stop them dispossessing hundreds of thousand of native americans in their quest for a land where they could 'practice their religion freely'. As for the invade and convert comment - look up references to 'people of the book'. They should afford us equal respect.Mek-Izzle wrote:

Jesus (assuming he existed) probably wouldn't have approved on that. Based on what the texts say what kind of guy he was (Liberal/Democrat Left Winger etc.. )CameronPoe wrote:

Wheras Muhammad himself has taken part in conquests. I think I remember lowing saying that, bad guy to quote I know but bear with me. He talked about how Christians that were being twats (and that's pretty much all of them except Jesus) were going against his teachings, whereas Muslims who conquered and did bad things were simply following what Muhammad himself did.
I dont believe you exist
Muhammed was involved in many wars as far as I know but they were not, to my knowledge, 'convert' or 'kill the infidel' wars - they were settling scores with old enemies. In the Q'uran the code of conduct during war is detailed and it does not talk of slaying or converting prisoners of war: in fact it says 'smite their necks (shackle them) and ransom them when the war is over', much like Christians used to do - trading PoWs for cash (as I learned in the great little book 'The Siege of Malta: 1565').Mek-Izzle wrote:

hadiths were all former code from the arabian peninsula for the bedouin culture that dominated for centuries prior to the formation of islam. How to survive in the desert guide, so to speak.
