You're an expert on the Q'uran are you? I certainly am not, although I attempted to read it (mindnumbingly boring) and have read much analysis of it. Perhaps you should ask an Imam how to interpret it because, as with most creeds, their holy book contains a large amount of symbolism and ambiguity. I could post a Q'uran quote that probably contradicts every quote you can muster - that's the nature of these silly books, they don't make much sense. I'll post something that perhaps you're not aware of:

"And do not dispute with the followers of the Book (Christians/Jews/'The West') except by what is best, except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him do we submit."

Anyone violating this Q'uranic sura is being a bad Muslim. This should allay your fears somewhat.... or not.

PS Likening muslims to nazis? There's someone else that springs to mind that reminds me of a xenophobic closed-minded insular nazi...

Hating religions is being closed-minded. I'm a staunch atheist and I don't hate religions. People can believe whatever the fuck they want. That's the beauty of living in the free world. I never stated who exactly I was referring to but whatever... (perhaps I should have said bigot)

The same could be said about any religion Mek. A lot of people probably thought Moses and Jesus were frauds too. You have to remember that in those days people believed in ghosts, fairies, angels and all manner of bullshit. As for the conquests - that is not a preserve of the Muslim faith. All faiths have done it apart from maybe the Buddhists. Crusades anyone?

Yeah, that's what I was going to add. All religions have done it. Yet, Islam claims to be peaceful. When it clearly has a history saying otherwise. Also, generally speaking. People were going against their religion when they killed in the name of it. Yet, Islam says it was acceptable to invade and convert as many people as possible. Muhammad would've wanted that.

Jesus/Buddha/Moses/Krishna whoever wouldn't have wanted that. Assuming they existed, of course.

Muhammed was involved in many wars as far as I know but they were not, to my knowledge, 'convert' or 'kill the infidel' wars - they were settling scores with old enemies. In the Q'uran the code of conduct during war is detailed and it does not talk of slaying or converting prisoners of war: in fact it says 'smite their necks (shackle them) and ransom them when the war is over', much like Christians used to do - trading PoWs for cash (as I learned in the great little book 'The Siege of Malta: 1565').
