We didn't have to go to Iraq.
Ultimately it was a judgment call, a endevor of freewill. people are pissed, but...

As a penalty of missunderestimation, America will elect the most liberal senator there is. The irony is that in many ways George W. Bush has been the most liberal president we've ever had.

He has expanded entitlements, and through signing statements has increased the scope and breadth of the powers of the president. He has outspent the most liberal liberals; it's not even a close contest. He is a liberals wet dream.

Last night I tuned into Hannity and Combes, they were interviewing a herd of democrat voters all of whom were dead set against anything republican, and dead set for everything Obama. Not one person could cite anything he has accomplished in the senate. Even after all the debates the prime answer was " he's a great speaker ". It's all about payback for what the public perceives as a abject failure in Iraq ( btw, I don't think it is, it's just hard to not get discouraged with the 24/7 negative coverage ).

Let us not forget how the presidency game is played; you promise one thing, and do the exact opposite when elected.

Case in point; Clinton. The " I did not exhale " guy signed laws granting seizure rights to police for minor drug infractions. This was the era of losing your house, cars and all assets when convicted of drug dealing.

Case in point; Bush. Fiscal responsibility. What a fucking train wreck.

So, if recent history is any precedent, Obama will be elected on a peace and healthcare platform, will not be able to deliver the healthcare because the illegal aliens will not comply and he will make the case for attacking Iran, and then do it.

You heard it here first.

yep

its not really an election anyway. the American people did not choose these candidates. as far as we can tell, the corporate media did, but that conclusion is really limited by the lack of transparency in powerful institutions. beyond the fact that the media is obsessed with a small handful of candidates years before an election, we aren't really capable of commenting further on how or why a person goes from a joke to the president that 51% of the country miraculously stands behind.

and for just as long as necessary. we will all appear to love and support obama or romney or whoever until he actually starts some dumb war, beefs up NAFTA, poisons the poor with some kind of "healthcare," or what have you. Then the powers that be condone the stoning of the president (ie. george w bush, richard nixon, etc) and give us a new, better sounding candidate that over the next 4-8 years introduces the new/next thorn in our side. and all along the majority of us thank them for this pseudo-democracy because we think we are in control.

I don't like any of the candidates from the two major parties.  I guess I will need to research some third party people.

Explain how that is Liberal.

Ha! And you admit it! I guess you mean Hannity and Colmes.

Swallowing and unblinkingly adopting other peoples prejudices just makes you look like a sheep.
Worse if its from Fux News.

Hardly, tax subisidies for oil companies, no-bid contracts for his chums, tax cuts for millionaires, a pointless war.

Clinton. The " I did not exhale " guy
I guess you mean inhale?

More likely the US economy will finally implode under the burden of the Iraq war, destroying any chance of universal healthcare or even a balanced budget for a generation to come.

From outside the US Obama is the only candidate who looks as if he has a soul. That would be good enough for me.

I'm actually becoming intersted in McCain.

McCain is actually largely conservative, but he's so flamingly liberal on a few issues that i seriously would rather have someone better...

Huckabee ftw...

Oh sure, a drooling religious fanatic for a president.

I think not.

We screwed this year ladies. Let's just hope the economy doesn't totally get destroyed before we get through this.

I'm fairly certain the economy's going to crash in the next couple of years, at least a major recession, just look at the mortgage market now, it's almost identical to the way the stock market was back in 1929...
I believe we are in for tough times regardless of who is president, and all we can hope for is a president who is capable of softening the landing enough that we can recover without another major worldwide depression...

Maybe it isn't quite hillary's time to ascend to power, if she pulls the country out of a huge recession in 10 years then she's president for life lol
