So I went to play battlefield 2 for a while, and then I checked my video card temperature and I noticed that it went up to 101 C. So how in the world is that possible. Is there a way to fix it? thanks

I once cranked my old 6800GT to the same temperatures using the ATI tools artifact checker. Make sure you're getting good ventilation, and look into a good aftermarket cooler.
what video card is it? my 88Gt runs hot, but not quite that hot!
It's a 6600gt, I know it's a old card. I will probably get a new card soon.
that is too hot. its probably a glitch in the censor or the hardware/program
More likely just a crappy or blocked fan. Get a better one or play with your case open and an external one pointed on it like I did two summers ago when it was extremely hot outsidebf2gammer wrote:

Mine used to get that hot with no issues. I ran it for 3 years like that, and AFAIK, it still runs happily for my brother.
hahaha. I had a radeon 9800 pro, went through 3 cards and the fan broke on all of them. For a while did exactly that. People laughed, but at least I was still able to playDe_Jappe wrote:

I have seen an x800 run at 112C
But your problem is either:
a) Blocked or broken fan
b) Detached heatsink
c) Poor airflow in the case
It would be best to have it under 80 on full load.

Sounds a tad to hot to be true, could be a sensor glitch, but I'd blow it out, just to be sure.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Well, I fixed it. The video card had a lot of dusk so I have cleaned it. The video card is now at 48c on idle and 66c on full load. Thanks guys for your help.
