Just finished "Not by strength by Guile" by Pete Mercer- Ex SBS.

Gives good perspective of the rivalry between the SAS and SBS, bias towards the SBS of course. He also has to tackle an armed gang with his mates with only a stick.

What's a book?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That just shows you how unbelievably ignorant you are to the world. Someone who doesn't read should be banned from having remotely intellectual debates.

Reading "if nobody speaks of remarkable things" by Jon McGregor.

Mixing time between:

War & Peace - Leo Tolstoy
Keep The Aspidistra Flying - George Orwell
Complete Poetry of T.S. Eliot
The Perennial Philosophy - Aldous Huxley
The French Lieutenant's Woman - John Fowles.

I read quite a lot... normally for many different purposes (some for enjoyment, some for education, others just for 5-minute skimreads etc.)

Sounds like you have a good choice of some very famous authors. Although Aldous Huxley is very... nonsensical in ways. I can't stand some of his books, such as "A Brave New World".

Leo Tolstoy is brilliant and so is Eliot.

Never really thought much of him. As a book to analyse and try to understand his immensely accurate theories, fine, but as a book to read and enjoy, no thanks.
