What a great way to stimulate the economy, lets outsource sensitve material to another country. With all the fuss all of the sudden up the presidential nominees having their passports breached... whatever the hell that means. Were just letting another COUNTRY make them!

Outsourcing is a brainless move for CEOs to try to save the company money and pacify the stock holders. I say outsource upper-management.
Foreign CEO's make less than US CEO's....why not hire someone cheaper in the top echelon.

Piece of shit website crashed my browser. Haven't you guys heard of something called Youtube. It's what normal people use. It has a low rate of fucking things up and it's fast with streaming, hence why it's so popular. They should make it a rule or something.

About Outsourcing, It's what you get when you have so many rules and shit in a country. Business won't find it attractive so they go to places where it's cheaper. They just want to maximise profits. That's what you call freedom (or free market, or something, Idk I don't do business)

Actually, after companies started off-shoring, the pro-corporation government that's been in power the last 8 years has made laws to protect, even encourage this anti-american corporate greed (and joblessness) by giving breaks to off-shore US businesses instead of penalizing them.

Freedom for corporations at the cost of patriotism and lost US jobs?  How American is it for haliburton to move to Dubai (where there's no extradition) after they, through KBR, have sucked up $16 billion in no-bid contracts?  How american is it to have Old Navy sell their annual 4th of July tshirts made in sweat shops in the mariana's?  Are you suggesting capitalism trumps patriotism?

As long as you get:

Business wanting the biggest profit possible
Customers wanting the cheapest shit possible
Loads of rules/regulations/unions that make being an employer really crap in your own country (unless you go down the illegal path)
Business controlling the politics so that they're allowed to do this
Poorer Countries with relatively lower wages who do the job just as good without the bitching etc..

You're gonna get outsourcing. It's almost impossible to stop...imo.

yep, there's alot more to outsourcing than getting the cheapest price.

From an American perspective, having claimed the moral authority of the world in cracking down on civil rights abuse..when we're the ones employing slave labor and sweat shops..even in our own US territory (see tom delay, gap/old navy/banana republic, nike, etc).

When Honda shifted making their cars in Japan to the US, the prices didn't go up that much, nor did the repairs or maintenance costs (they're still high as hell, but unchanged proportionately).  We employed Americans, and we have an American minivan that is #1 for the last several years...and for an American car (honda oddyssey), it's very impressive (i normally think american cars suck).  If these vans were still made in japan...there'd be huge factories closed down and hundreds or thousands out of work.

Unemployment effects everyone.  Sure we're only at 5%, but the moral impact it causes is high.

Quality of service.  I don't need to mention China and their obvious record so i wont.  But lets look at the love we all have for talking to a language barrier induced fury we get when talking to customer service from many US companies via India.  Indians who seriously do NOT give a shit about our computer problems, our broken appliances, our internet service not working, etc.  They live in stucco homes on dirt roads, so why should they care if I can't stream a soccer game and get a porn fix for the day? (not what i do, but what they think)

GS is correct.  Stimulating OUR economy with OUR money is ALWAYS, always better.  The problem with people is they're selfish, or just not educated to know that everytime they shop at Walmart, they're fleecing their own country.  They think they're saving money by going to Walmart but they fail to realize they're not only giving China money for the sweatshops they run but they're paying for Walmart employees health care because Walmart doesn't give healthcare to probably 90% of their people...who go to the local county clinic..paid for with taxes.

Greedy capitalism = bad.
Responsible capitalism = good.

Plus the future effect it could (is having) have on our economy.  An economy (and well-being, security) of a country is tied directly to industry and manufacturing.  Outsourcing contributes to the decline in value of the dollar, and realistically makes our country less secure by relying on outside production and capital to keep it going, instead of becoming more self-sufficient.

well this wasnt really meant to be a discussion on outsourcing as it was meant to be OUR FREAKING NATIONAL SECURITY IS BEING TRUSTED WITH ANOTHER NATION. What happens if just 1 box of those chips goes missing? Do we have investigators standing by to lock down Thailands borders?
