So there I was, having a great time on a friday night. We had a couple drinks at a friend's place, went on to a bar near my house and had some more. In the end we went home and slept at my place because it was closer.
My friend hat to get up early the next morning because he had some work to do that day. So we went over to his place, had a coffe, each got into our car and on our way home.
Now on that one kilometer I had to drive back home (all of this was out on the countryside, not in a town btw.) some cops stand by the street and pull over one car after another. Including me. First the usual, "license and registration please". Then he decides he wants to test me on a breathalyzer. 0.008% over the limit. There goes my license for 4 weeks.
The real problem is my work is over 40km away from my home AND I work in field service, so I'm pretty much fucked to the max. The company is probably going to fire me and with a reason like that, it's gonna be near impossible to find another decent job anytime soon.
I never usually drink and drive and that day I really didn't expect I still had a noteworthy amount of alcohol in my blood.
Now I'm wondering, can one single mistake really fuck up your life like that?
Anyone got some similar expericence to share or some sort of advice? Would be much appreciated.
