I would really rather you didn't paste segments from random incidences of 'appeasement' as it would prove nothing...if on the other hand you can draw from all these examples and put forward a way in which these incidences might lead to Europe getting rid of it's Government systems in favour of Shariah Law then please go ahead. Okay, so they've got the prayer rooms and they're allowed to pray during the working day, what happens next...

There's a huge difference between providing a prayer room in a German university to getting rid of Western style democratic Government in favour of Shariah Government.

Nice thing is, here it doesn't matter what religion you follow, compared to the US nobody gives a shit in politics. I see all this talk about wether Obama is a muslim and so forth, while here in the netherlands you don't even hear a single word about religion when it's coming to politics. The only time a religion makes appearance in politics is when it's highly in the spotlights like Islam is at this moment.

But Europe being taken over by Islam? Not a chance in hell. We fought off everything that has come at us so far, if Islam wishes to take over Europe they'll have to take it over by force. And that force needs to be even more overwhelming than that of the germans in WW2, because even that failed - and I don't see any islamic nation, not even all of them combined take us over any time soon.

Europe won't move an inch.
Identity politics is worldwide. Don't fool yourself.

American politics is pretty cut throat. Obama's gain in popularity came after the shameless accusations of a Muslim background. The majority of Americans saw through the transparent and empty attacks.

I knew the numbers were low, but not that low.

Anyway usmarine, prove that it will happen.
Professor Philip Jenkins of Penn State University estimates that by 2100, Muslims will compose about 25% of Europe's population

Europe's Muslim population (without Russia) has nearly tripled over the last 30 years

This accounts for almost 85% of Europe's total population growth in 2005.[14] Muslim birth rate in Europe is three times higher than the non-Muslim one

Talks about christianity here - not a word.
buddhism - not a word.
any other religion - not a single word.

Islam only came in the spotlights with the dawn of terrorist attacks in the name of Islam. That's the ONLY religion we're talking about right now, and to tell you the truth religion in america matters a whole lot more than over here, as does race. The fact that there is a documentary being made by CNN over wether race matters in american politics already proves that point. The fact that muslims wouldn't stand a chance in a presidential race also proves that it matters more over there.

Even so, we're not giving up our constitutions and rights just to appease Islam. Right now we're just making sure muslims in our own countries aren't going to make any rows while we're bussy trying to track down the muslims in the middle east, also - offending a religion which plays a fundemental role in countries which you are fighting is a very stupid idea.

25% ...wow, that might even be enough to form a coalition Government.

You know what tends to happen when a society becomes more affluent and content usmarine... birth rates drop. Having 20 kids is probably the norm back in the homeland and these customs and conventions will no doubt carry on for a time after moving to a Western nation but the fact is with normal integration and a rise in living standards as compared with back home these birth rates will in all likelihood begin to level off. A young Muslim raised in the West and exposed to Western culture and conventions will have less desire to rush out and get married and have a million kids...take our old friend M3thod, a 'Westernised Muslim', how many kids did he have?

You know nobody can prove what's in the future. How did the almighty Professor Jenkins come about his estimate? Did he perhaps see that the Muslim population has tripled over 30 years and apply this over the next 100 years by any chance?

Well, muslims that come over here aren't die hard followers of their religion / Shar'ia law. They come here to flee those things, while still being able to practice their religion >in peace<. The birth rate among second generation or third generation muslims is alot lower than that of the first, also - the birth rate in places where living conditions are alot better is alot lower. Those who want to make european countries Islamic countries are a huge minority, they make up barely 0.01%. But they're still going against our law stating freedom of religion. It won't happen.

Graphs made on long term are somewhat untrustworthy. You can't predict the future, and it's especially hard in subjects like these - times change quickly, and with that situations drastically.

You miss the point. If anything these vague attacks on religion have opened more eyes to the insignificance of it. Just because you see them being reported overseas it does not necessarily mean it has effected popular opinion. During election season the news will report the smallest of controversies, irregardless of it's relevance. I suggest you form your opinion around common sense and not CNN.

I was using CNN as a reference for making a documentary on wether race matters in the presidential run. Popular media doesn't make programs on subjects which few people care about / would watch. Meaning, that race probably is an issue which they could profit of.

Now tell me, if Obama came out as a muslim in the presidential race, he would be considerably less succesfull and wouldn't get as much votes as he does now - correct?
