I'd consider looking at faster RAM (1066) as it is not that more expensive. Also, why the B Grade? A Grade isn't much more expensive!
A grade is out of stock.kylef wrote:

How's this ram? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =MY-082-OC
Are you going to run vista or XP? If vista: add another extra 2gb ram.
sorry, you are ordering 2 x 2gb kit, I thought you were going to order 2gb. Yeah 4GB is just fine for vista. But why don't take 2 x 2GB? It allows you to upgrade to 6 or 8GB later on.Jenspm wrote:

Isn't that a little.... uneven?
I think I'll be running 64-bit XP, as I'm kinda sick of Vista now... Will probably move back to Vista eventually though...
Jens, don't bother with the slower(anything under PC8500) OCZ stuff, they don't use decent IC's. The Crucial Ballistix line on the other hand uses exactly the same (Micron D9GMH) IC's which are excellent overclockers.
Reaper is also fine.ghettoperson wrote:

What about the ram I linked to above?ghettoperson wrote:

@Terror: I was under the impression that 4x1GB was better than 2x2GB? Also, the Ram I linked to above is only available in 1GB.

Only the PC8500 Reaper sticks use D9 IC's.']['error wrote:

I think tezza props misread it 4GB is all good for vista
Yeah that stuff will be fine.Jenspm wrote:

hrm, how's this compared to the SLi stuff I linked to above?

edit - nvm, the heatsinks take up a ram slot each

Why don't you go with DS3R or DS3R/C, they are all the same, and those are cheaper than the B-grade one you have chosen. I can, understand, if you are going to crossfire, but if you are planning on running 1 card, especially Nvidia - you won't be able to use the second PCI-E - just a thought...
Let us know how the HD and CPU are Should be using them in the summer if I'm lucky ...Jenspm wrote:
k, purchased.
The stuff will be here on Monday

I read the CPU goes to 3.5ghz with ease but then you have to put a lot more effort to get it higher than that.Jenspm wrote:

What does line total mean? For the memory the price is 25 pounds but under "line total" it say 50.
@Mitch: I know the Spinpoint it awesome, but I'm really excited to see how the CPU performs!
That's what I've been reading as well..Sup wrote:

But from 2.5GHz -> 3.5GHz is definately enough OC'ing for me.
You shouldn't think this way, you might as well bought an Q6600 then which is cheaper.Jenspm wrote:

Exactly what I found online as well. A 40% increase is good enough for me, thanks.Jenspm wrote:

I'm getting that proc some time in May, so tell me how it is!

You should also read my post above yours. Buy a Q6600 if you think 40% OC is enough for you. You are paying more for a Q9300 so why not actually get more?haffeysucks wrote:

The Q9300 is 45nm. So it'll be more energy-efficient which is a good reason for my parents to let me upgrade, and it will hopefully dissipate less heat. I'm sure with a bit of tweaking it can go higher..Sup wrote:
