Oi!
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

E6600 default clocks: 266x9 (2400 mhz)
My overclock: 380x9 (3420 mhz)
1.41 vcore over 1.35, cores never go above 50°C

8800GTX stock: 575 / 1800
My overclock (stock cooler): 635 / 2100
Overheats and artifacts at 50% fan, stays under 80°C at 100% fan
Will get a HR-03 soon to lower temps and perhaps overclock even more (GPU only though, I'd say that I've reached the max safe clock for the GRAM)

Definately no.
(This is the first system that I have overclocked btw )

No, I find the max by putting the fan on 100%, OCing until artifacts show, clock down 10Mhz on Core and Mem and it's 24/7 stable.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Too much risk for such little gain.
What "little gain"?

Overclocking a 2.4GHz E6600 to 4GHz is hardly what I consider "little gain".

There's really very little risk as long as you don't increase the voltages.  I've done all kinds of stupid things to my X2 5200+, like increasing frequencies 100MHz at a time, and it still runs like a champ.  Just clear CMOS, reboot, and you're good to go.

Todays mobos are really safe when it come to OCing.
I've increased my frequency from 3000mhz straight to 4000mhz. But i knew what i was doing.

hehe tru. 3dmark gets horribly cpu bound when you have 3 GPU well see again when I get the successor of G200
