That's the easiest way I approve of. Other stuff does it wrong.
DivX is just an encoding standard which falls under the umbrella of MPEG4 compression techniques. The stuff discussed on doom9 is not complicated, they don't go into custom MPEG4 profiles and start discussing redundancy for streaming over networks with a low QoS (typically achieved using reversible variable length packets and sync markers), or any hard stuff like that. They don't even mention BIFFS.
