If I understand your question correctly then yes you can just plug it into the router and the Xbox should do the rest.

Yes but it will cost you 100 bucks for the wireless adapter. Just get a 50 foot cable on newegg for like 6 bucks.

From what I understand 360's have to be wired through to your router....otherwise if you want WIFI, you need the adapter like the fellas said above.

Hmm, I don't know if the xbox would recognize it though. So it would be pointless to buy it if it didn't work.

It works with a laptop and a normal ethernet cable.  Can be very temperamental though and takes a lot of footering about to get it working.

if your router is wireless then you just need the wireless adapter (i actually bought one today and they work well) or a long ass cable.
