If I understand your question correctly then yes you can just plug it into the router and the Xbox should do the rest.
Well what I mean is.. My router is in another room for my computer. Is there anyway I can use it for my xbox?
Of course, if the wire is long enough
Like can I connect my xbox to the internet wirelessly?
Yes but it will cost you 100 bucks for the wireless adapter. Just get a 50 foot cable on newegg for like 6 bucks.ThaReaper wrote:

Try bridging through a laptop or computer with a wireless NIC.
From what I understand 360's have to be wired through to your router....otherwise if you want WIFI, you need the adapter like the fellas said above.
Hmm, I don't know if the xbox would recognize it though. So it would be pointless to buy it if it didn't work.nukchebi0 wrote:

take if back if it doesnt work, or borrow one
It works with a laptop and a normal ethernet cable. Can be very temperamental though and takes a lot of footering about to get it working.nukchebi0 wrote:

if your router is wireless then you just need the wireless adapter (i actually bought one today and they work well) or a long ass cable.
how much is a dvd drive for the 360 worth?
they were going for a tenner on hot uk deals not long ago
