I never said anything about gaming. I meant the DIY market for laptops.
Asus has been making "barebone", DIY notebooks for years.
Why do I get the feeling that the OCZ notebook is just a rebranded/repainted Asus C90.
Barebones aren't that new, Asus manufactures notebooks for a lot of different brands (I believe they made some Apple notebooks before), but part of their own line of notebooks includes their barebones which aren't really shed that much light. Hell, pretty much all Asus laptops aren't that known throughout in comparison to bigger names like Apple, HP, Sony, etc.
There is no point in getting a true gaming notebook IMO, but I like to think the term "gaming notebook" for something with a 8600 is a misnomer. It's more of a "notebook-capable-of-playing-modern-games-fairly-well."
