e.g. sniper = ......... official.

Which class goes with which map is determined by the overall quality of the map. For instance, I could say that almost all classes are at their best in goldrush because it's a well made map. And I will.

Heavy - cart surfing (standing on the cart as team blu) is one of the most awesome things in TF2.
Demoman - stickies on the cart, lots of rooms/sentry nests to fire into, enough space to use stickies in fights.
Soldier - plenty of cover, lots of rocketjump options, enough alternate routes available
Sniper - awesome sniping spots, lots of open areas, blu enemies pushing the cart are free kills
Spy - open areas and alternate routes means you don't have to die by accidentally touching the enemy for a split second in a crowded corridor. Also, sentry setups are generally out of the way, so an engineer defending his stuff against you won't get much help.
Engineer - There are many well protected sentry spots, and opportunities to put sentries in strange but effective places.
Medic - Because of all the other classes and the cart

scouts and pyros are better on granary, hydro, or dustbowl though.

Scout = Gravelpit. Need to cap A almost immediately? Scout rush of half the team usually works. Trying to defend? Scouts are a great distraction. More time wasted on scouts = less time to take the point.

Sniper works best on that DM one whatever it's called.

Racked up 130 kills to about 100 deaths, 90% of them headshots.

Not great, but that was my first time sniping.

I have just been informed that the map I was meaning was DM_Store.

Valve wouldn't create a map of their own if one or two classes were at a disadvantage.

Take 2fort, for instance:-

- The Scout has the bridge in the middle to hop across
- The Soldier can rocket jump into the enemy base
- The Pyro has the small corridors in enemy bases to attack people
- The Demoman has stickies to hop from one side the the other. Also, the small corridors are good for laying sticky traps
- The Heavy dominates in the smaller corridors and can hold his own on the bridge (accompanied with a Medic)
- The Engineer has some sneaky spots to hide his sentry around
- The Medic is just the Medic and heals people
- The Sniper has the battlements to snipe from
- The Spy has places to hide and disguise at

That's what I meant. Scout's not really good for using his Scattergun on 2fort. Maybe bat, but not Scattergun. Atleast, for me it's that way.

But for objectives, if you can work with a spy to have him sap a sentry (if there is one) guarding the entrance to the intelligence room whilst you run in and get it, you've pretty much got the round won (if you can do it on multiple occasions).
