Seriously...it's a bunch of men away from home with big guns, told to kill people and avoid getting killed. Things get real fundamental real fast with those kinds of conditions, and I seriously doubt there is much difference from one person to another in those situations.
It's real easy to say you support our troops and stick yellow ribbons on your car...but as soon as relatively minor situations come up, people aren't so supportive. I mean seriously, the guy in the video could have been killed in an IED the next day.
Yeah, relative to dogs, we are superior. It doesn't make us smart, it just makes us smarter than them.DefCon-17 wrote:

Besides, the only reason we are dominant is our intelligence.
We aren't shit without technology.
Because we are relatively weak, animals must always be respected for their physical dominance. You don't underestimate an animal, even a tame one, for what it can do.
Maybe there is some alien race that makes us look like idiots.
..Technology wise, that is.
The human race is pretty idiotic in general.
and I never said you dont support the troops. I said, if you are going to be happy about this guy getting kicked out, you should try to get the 90% of combat troops that Ive seen, worked with and talked to as well. This isnt just one man's experience kerry. I recently talked to a sheriffs deputy who just got back from iraq and the first thing his partner said he did (jokingly) was "all you did was kill dogs" which led me to believe his experiences must have been similiar to mine. this is just recently, every other vet ive talked to, especially the ones I still serve with would agree with me.
God Save the Queen do you shoot dogs when out on patrol?

No shit? You presume to know how I feel and what I done to support our veterans. Wtf do you really know about me? Weak argument this time FM. I have my opinion on animal abuse. Stop pushing this ridiculous idea that the only way you can support the troops is to accept everything they do (individually) unconditionally.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

People I know that have served over there would confirm what GS has said. This is a common occurrence.Kmarion wrote:

So unless I support the killing of puppies I can't support the troops and their mission? There are large gaps in logic that I can't ignore here.God Save the Queen wrote:

why are you getting that I say you dont support the troops? Im not saying that at all. Im trying hard to point how im not saying that and you are still drawing that conclusion.
if you think a member of the military should be discharged for animal abuse, then you would be shocked at how many people you think should be discharged.

I don't want you to support anything they do unconditionally. I do want to see some benefit of the doubt we the most we have of the back story is 30 seconds of video.Kmarion wrote:

It's the either or idea I'm challenging. You said that if this upsets you, you had "better start taking back all your support".God Save the Queen wrote:

in that case, I rescind that statement and replace it with the last sentence of my post prior to this.
I do.. actually if you go back and read through the original thread you will see me talking about reserving judgment. The situation has changed (OP).Flaming_Maniac wrote:

It's kinda ironic that I am listening to Phil Hendrie interviewing Micheal Yon right now. They are talking about all the good work our troops are doing. If anyone is interested in it I'll post it.

Again, the situation has changed. So yes it does matter what I said prior to the Marine Corps investigation. Nice try, swing and a miss.

So, the difference to you was someone proving that yes, a marine actually threw a puppy off a cliff? That was the deciding factor, proving the video wasn't a fake?Kmarion wrote:

You still aren't giving the soldier any benefit of the doubt.

I didn't pass judgement based on what I saw in a 30 sec youtube video. I placed my faith in the ruling by the Marines after they did their investigation. I would presume that this was more than watching a youtube clip.I do want to see some benefit of the doubt we the most we have of the back story is 30 seconds of video.
I gave my benefit of the doubt beforehand.

You would presume...you don't know. They would have hung him out to dry even if he did very little wrong to be honest because this has already gotten so much bad media. Don't be such a sheep.Kmarion wrote:

Whats the matter? Don't you support the Marine Corps? Your making your own presumptions on what they would have done at this very moment.. sheep lol.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Before you start doing that, do you have any reason to believe what you just claimed?Flaming_Maniac wrote:
