Where do i go to download an ad-blocker? I just searched through a shit load of the widgets already and found nothing...
It blocks most ads built-in, however you can get a pre-compiled ad filter, just search for urlfilter.ini. There is one available that's the same one used in FF's adblock.

Anyway just upgraded and... wow. I'm liking the improvement. Wasn't too sure about the new bar at the bottom so I removed it but this is the first time I've actually stuck to a default skin, it's the sex.

Wow! I didn't know they had improved Opera so much. I only tried the first version of beta and it was disappointing.... but this is incredibly. I have not seen a faster browser. This beats FF3 RC2 by a mile.

If it does have an advertisement blocker built in its not very good. I still see advertisements. Anyway to get a better one?

Apart from that I love it. It is very fast and I love the speed dial.

The only thing I would've preferred is that the New Tab button didnt shrink on the left. (I barely use Ctrl - T) I liked it when it was slightly bigger, cause I now unknowingly press the first tab aha.

Oh well, it's a shortcoming I'll get over soon enough anyway. (It might also just be my skin or something) Regardless, awesome update .
you can still double-click to the right of your last tab

Or single click there with middle mousebutton
Or press Ctrl+T
Or go to "preferences - advanced - shortcuts" and create a mouse gesture or keyboard shortcut for it.

It's been mentioned twice in this thread already. I'll be nice and assume you have a reading impairment so here's a step by step:

Step 1: Go to http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/opera/ (this is the one I use).

Step 2: Download urlfilter.ini and place it in the instructed directory, do the same for element hider if you don't like empty spaces.

Step 3: Restart Opera and woah! No ads.

Oh thanks, didn't realise the 2nd page. And it had only been mentioned once.

If it misses something:

Right click > block content > click on advert > Presto all ads form that source gone forever.

The theme really is uber ... I think I may just have to switch, you know I'll tweak it to my standards then give it a whirl!

A few questions:

1. Is there a "widget" for Internet Download Manager?
2. Any tweaks you recommend I do?
3. Isn't the default theme cool?
4. Is there a keyboard command for the wand? (ie Alt + N would do the same thing as Wand)

No widget needed, I never integrated it with opera, but it works :
http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/ … l#browser1

Not for 9.5, it's perfect for now.

I dislike the default theme, I downloaded and installed d_t_a. It's awesome.

Yes, there should be, can't remember what.

Hope that helps.

1. Probably
2. Does it need tweaking?
3. I'm using one called Mirage M6, it's about 6th on the popular skins page, the default is nice tho.
4. Ctrl+Enter.

Hummm, I have to say i'm very disappointed with this release.

True, it is much faster, and it has some cool features, but its less stable, crashes a lot more often, and incorrect rendering of webpages is a pretty regular occurance.

I feel that they've rushed this release to get it out before FF3; it's nowhere near the seemless transition that is usually a Opera upgrade.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that not Opera's fault, I've used it for about the last 9 hours straight and not crashed once with every page loading perfectly fine.

Yeah so far it's rendered everything exactly the same as the last release as far as I can see.

Having used it for a couple of days I've come to the conclusion that while it looks pretty, it's not amazingly different to FF. So I guess I'll just stick to what I'm used to.

After hearing all the testimonials of you ff fans saying how good Opera is I'll give it a try. Even if it isn't better than firefox it's one more reason to not sure IE, so thx!

Theres a lot of posts on the Opera forums about similar issues, so whilst it doesn't seem to be affecting everyone, it affects some people: both computers I have installed Opera 9.5 on (which were both running 9.27 fine before), have crashed a few times.

Come on, not this shit again.

Firefox and opera on my computer load pages almost equally fast.  Opera switches between previously viewed pages instantly, but flash/html/images load after.  Firefox loads everything instantly, but there is a delay in switching.  When measuring the time to completely render a viewed page, firefox is SLIGHTLY slower (like .05 seconds, not noticeable.)  Loading new pages, i again saw almost no difference in speed, it's that insignificant.  Mind you, my firefox is loaded down with almost 40 extensions to boot, most of which i found out opera had default.

Opera fantards, your internets is only faster to the point where netphiles would hardly notice, quit overexaggerating.  Firefox fantards, your internets is only better because of extensions, out of the box opera is the best equipped browser.

My preference, firefox, just too useful, but should i find myself on a computer that needs good nets, i cant be arsed to find all those extensions and will just use opera.

/stupid shitty myinternetsisbetterthanyoursbutintheendweareallretarded arguement.
