There are so many pros to switching to Opera, but the cons that are holding me back are really big ones ... this is a hard choice to make.
Opera is a new change, and change is always good. It has some fantastic features such as Speed Dial. Additionally, the in-built mail client is fast, reliable and it was so easy to setup. I really, really like it. It's such a change from Firefox and I like it for that - I've used Firefox for two years now, with a brief use of Opera in that time. The theme is really nice, and overall I think it is a fantastic browser.
However, there are a few cons holding me back. And they're big ones. First, no IDM (Internet Download Manager) integrated support in 9.5 - this is a big big issue for me. I'm happy to sacrifice all downloads except for RAR files to Opera's in built download manager (is it any good?), but for RAR files, specifically Rapidshare - I use IDM. I haven't done any speed tests yet, so I'll try that tomorrow. If there is minimal difference and there are the same queue options like in IDM, it is likely that I'll switch. One or two other problems is that I have become so accustomed to Firefox and I have to "learn" this browser. The last main thing is that there seems to be a lot less widgets (Firefox users: plugins) and customization available in Opera than there is in Firefox.
It's a tough call. This whole IDM thing will settle it for me. If there is little difference, you can call me a hypocrite 'cause I won't be "The Adblocker" anymore.
