I need a new graphics card for under 100$

It's not gonna be top of the line but I don't care because I've never had that anyway so don't say get this 250$+ card.

So what should I get? I know that ATi cards are pretty shit at this price level, mostly due to heat which is an issue with this build, so I'm willing to try nVidia now.

If it's faulty you can send it back. Refund. I have bought open box stuff tons of times over the years. I got $100 of a 680i SLI mobo on release (well a week after) and there was not a thing wrong with it.

What Bell said. Open box is just an item that has been shipped to someone, and refunded for whatever reason. If they would've snapped the card in half, they wouldn't re-sell it.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. QFT - my A8N32-SLI Deluxe was Open-Box, and I had no problems with it.
