A few weeks ago, I realized I should get a job. Asides from the obvious benefit of getting money (yes, I'm "under the roof" of my parents, but while they don't mind paying for food and shit they do mind paying for my gaming...), a job would teach me responsibility and such.
So I applied to Best Buy... I think I'm a pretty solid candidate for what amounts to showing people where merchandise is and trying to sell it to them. I get good grades, go to a very good school, and I have experience working with people at my volunteer job (if you can handle angry and slightly nutty homeless people you can handle anything). Honestly, I don't want to sound arrogant but I think I'm just as knowledgeable and approachable as any person working there. Yet I still haven't heard a thing from them! I have no idea whether or not they've denied my application because these asshats don't have the courtesy to tell you.
So then a few days ago I decided to apply for AMC theatres and a local ice cream shop as well. Once again, I think I'm a pretty solid candidate. I'm a bit worried that the stupid personality test for AMC/Best Buy (they use the same generic application from some company called Unicru) is what screwed me over - it's basically a bunch of questions like "Can people tell if you're angry?" that would be better found out in an interview.
It's not like I'm demanding to be the manager of a store, or like I'm demanding $20 an hour. What the hell am I doing wrong?
