Yep but i think before Physix will go into real action nvidia will already release a new series of cards. My point is that HD4series will win but the future is uncertain.The_Sniper_NM wrote:

Bingo. I wouldn't be shocked to see Alan Wake, Dead Space, Ghostbusters, Left 4 Dead, H.A.W.X. and many other new games coming out support PhysX.The_Sniper_NM wrote:

Yeah but now nVidia's fucking everything around (see: CUDA).Jenspm wrote:
hrm, I've always thought physics were more CPU hungry than graphics hungry?
Fucking nVidia.
The fact it is possible to be used on a 8800 (the card was made before nvidia brought ageia) means that it must just be software, and it could be possible that somone makes modded drivers for ATi.Jenspm wrote:

Maybe it isn't possible and won't happen, but I just think it's odd it can be used on a card that was made before nvidia had access to ageia's technology.
It's similar to the Antwerp Uni Super computer with 4 9800GX2s. CUDA allows the card to operate like a cpu, the advantage is 128 cores vs quad and dual cores.Jenspm wrote:
But I thought the original PhysX card was built to relieve stress from the CPU? Wouldn't that mean that if you had a good multi-core processor, you could make up for the loss of not having a GFX card with the built in PhysX (a 4870 for exaple)?
G80 supports CUDA O_o.Sup wrote:
Speaking of CUDA-Physix will support GFX cards CUDA1.0 and above that means G92 and above.Poseidon wrote:

NV PhysX Tweaker 1.0
Guru3D Download"A small tweak utility to en/disable GeForce PhysX and switch to CPU PhysX.
Matuus, our in-house Guru3D NVHardpage programmer stumbled into the same issue I had as well. The NVIDIA PhysX driver once install will activate itself on the GPU, and can not be disabled.
Required: Windows Vista 32-bit, GeForce G80/G92/GT200 and NV PhysX drivers
This little NV PhysX Tweaker tool will allow you to actually choose to enable or disable the PhysX driver over the GPU and if preferred, the CPU. Very simple, yet very handy.
I have 177.39 installed. Do I need to install the PhysX drivers also or does the nVidia driver have everything to do it?
Be sure to let us know when they are official .sup.Sup wrote:

Interesting that it doesn't mention the 8800's.
A lot of us here have 8800's including me.

Promised since the day Nvidia announced Ageia's acquisition, PhysiX support for GeForce graphics cards is finally here with the new 177.39 driver. This new GeForce release, sourced by the guys @ TweakPC, is dated June 16 and comes with support for the GeForce 9800 GTX, GeForce GTX 260 and 280 graphics cards and the nForce 750a SLI and 780a SLI IGPs. Please note that you'll need the 8.06.12 (or above) PhysX driver installed too.
