Well do you?  Especially when you find it 2 feet away from the place you started.  -_-

Yes, I killed myself once because I couldn't find the remote when I needed to turn over to watch 'The Most Amazing TV Program In The World'.

Fortunately, God sent me back.

The remote had somehow slid under my leg and I was too lazy to stand up.

Imagine my surprise, and relief, as the jolt to my body from my soul re-implanted itself caused my legs to twitch and the remote to pop out of its hiding place!

What?! It's all true!

Well, apart from the God bit - I actually went t'other way and it was Satan that sent me back (you don't want to know what I had to do in return).

A Sony remote is not cheap. I could not find the remote for my receiver (home theatre system) for a couple of months and had to buy a new one. Eventually, I found the old one deep in the couch padding and now i have two...oh well they come in handy.

I've lost the remote to my car stereo, which is okay since ITS RIGHT FUCKING IN FRONT OF ME.

you figure actually having a clean house makes things easier to look for the damn remote but then you don't end up looking at the most obvious places... then you find out its on the your desk...

I have 7 remotes for my TV, which I've barely used for years. The remote for my computer, a full-size RF keyboard that weighs 700g is kinda hard to loose.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

How many remotes do you need to turn it on and change channels?

I'm assuming the tv doesn't have a built in dvd player, because you've bought several remotes over a number of years from the sounds of things.

Why 7?

i have 3, one for dvd, the dvr remote, and a tv remote

the dvr remote has been programmed for the other two but not every function on it works so i keep the others to just make it easier

and i lost the dvd remote, which really bothers me

I keep the remote in the same spot.  I haven't had to go looking for it in years.
