It just points out that most of the bad rep from the OS now comes from word of mouth no so much people reading articles about it.

That's pretty cool, actually. Certainly not an original idea, but cool nonetheless.

I love Vista, even though I've had some problems with it. It's much better than XP, and that's after having XP-based computer from 2002 until 2007.

Lol pwnt. Vista is pwnage. I've had minor problems with the drivers for Vista, NOT THE OS ITSELF. Creative (obviously) and Ntune fucking with Sli (obvious as well) It sucks when you don't realize its been installed. :\

But, but Vista sucks! I heard from a friend who's coworker's uncle's cousin's neighbour installed it and thought it was too black.

Or he was just being sarcastic. Unless you're being sarcastic too. If so, it just flew right over my head.

At any rate, I'm using Vista now, interface looks a lot nicer, but aside from that, I can't really tell the difference.

Well they want to buy me Vista, sure I will switch. But I have my copy of XP pro that I will keep on using, because wait a minute, I paid $300 fucking dollars for it and I am not paying that much to "upgrade".

Why does it cost so much for an OS?

Because without one, your computer isn't going to do much except look pretty from the outside..

If you really don't want to pay, Linux is a good option.

I got my Vista Home Premium for like $50 bucks. OEM version.

Without a PSU or any other minor piece of hardware it won't do much except look pretty from the outside. Why does this piece of software cost so much

Because Microsoft has killed off all competitors and have the software industry in their back pocket, so they could charge what ever they wanted for their products and can get away with it.

While it's been hard to avoid all the talk, people have seemed to forget that OS's have a ton of problems after they're released. Unfortunately, it seems that it took longer for the problems to settle then the typical "1 year" I always hear. Granted, I was 9 years old when XP was released so I have absolutely nothing to compare that time frame to.

Either way. It looks like it's starting to come around and I may pick it up in the future.

Edit for typo.

See though, I've used Vista extensively and it's just not that great. Nothing about it makes it so much better than XP that it's not worth upgrading yet. Soon, it will be... but not yet.

Pay for Windows? I didn't know anyone but 50+ people and usmarine did that anymore.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

QFT, hilarious how arrogant and bent-out-of-shape these people were before they tried Vista/Mojave.  Almost like they were Mac users or something.

They were just reciting what they heard. Points taken away for believing it, but that doesn't mean they're arrogant and bent out of shape.
