Same rules apply, as the VP can become POTUS.
What does POTUS mean?
President of the United States.

I think this is very interesting.  When Ferraro was on the Dem ticket, the votes went the other way because the Dems were "way too liberal".

Now, a women VP candidate who's conservative.

Yes, of course a VP candidate should bring something to the table. Biden does that. Palin does not. Biden's got many years of Washington experience. Palin does not. Biden has GREAT foreign policy experience. Palin does not (as far as I know).

I don't even think Palin's going to bring many voters to McCain's side.
Maybe you should read the hundreds of article that report his clean bill of health. His melanoma was completely cured. They can do that nowadays.

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/05/2 … index.html

Biden's got many years of Washington experience? Isn't that what 90% of what Obama has been preaching against (The tired old politics of Washington).  I dare the Obama camp to start talking experience.. I double dog dare them... Pit-fall.

Sorry bud, this was an awesome move. Perfectly played.
Yes, I know what they can do with skin cancer, Kmar. My father had it too and had his removed after they took out an entire portion of his (I think) left cheek. I don't care if it's removed. It's the fact that he's had it, combined with being tortured and being old. You really think his doctors are going to tell the public that "he's not in great shape" even if he was? Come on.
I think I'll take the publicly disclosed records over your speculation. Do you think a doctor can just lie about a health condition? .. "cmon". This nonsensical distrust of the government completly defies logic. FFS we had to hear about Bush's anal probe a few years ago..lol. McCain has been cleared numerous times. It's not like he's got white supremest chasing him around the country just begging for a clear shot.  Btw you didn't answer the brilliance in choosing a "fresh face" candidate. I don't care who you are voting for, anyone can appreciate the smarts behind this.

I don't. The whole idea of picking a VP is to pick someone who's experienced enough to handle the job in case you go down.

In McCain's case, considering his age and health, I'd consider the chance of that happening to be somewhat likely. So he picks someone with hardly any experience who's, imo, DEFINITELY not prepared to lead?

If Obama went down, Biden could do the job. But if McCain went down, I don't think Palin could do the job. That's what's important.
The whole idea is to bring more voters to your side (Politics 101). Banking on the death certificate down the road is silly. You were just talking about what a VP candidate should bring to the table. The obvious move is to choose a candidate that can pick up the political slack. Clearly that's what McCain did and in effect played Obama's own words against him (a fresh face). Me thinks your judgment is a tad bit biased here.

Btw McCains health is great.

Really?  I'm suprised.  I really thought the Dems would put out a press release on how great a choice it was.

I'm referring to race/sex and risk.

Hope that helps.

The Republicans control the voting machines and will bring back the draft!!!!  The Democrats will recklessly pull out of Iraq over night and will raise my taxes to pay for illegal minority lesbian abortions in the 4th trimester!!!!

Due to these facts presented by each party about the other, I will choose to vote Constitution and refuse to support Americide.

no there's legitamite stuff, but its part of it.

i g2g so i'll be clear, and i'll assume you tell me i'm wrong anyway...so

a black democrat stands up and discusses many reasons why palin isn't a good choice, including the fact she's a minority.  from a party that's front runners were minorities, and a minority won.

from a black democrat.  from a party with a black prez candidate.  and talking about risk of choice.  and playing a little of the minority/race card in the process.

I think Obamas chance to become president increased drastically when Palin was announced as VP, i would almost say he got his presidency gift wrapped and handed to him by a silly old man ...

What are her merits ? ... 2 years as governor and prior to that mayor for 9000 people in a town in Alaska that nobody has ever heard about ...

She has little or no foreign policy experience and with a 72 year old Potus that can leave office from natural causes before his term is up you risk having a former miss Alaska contestant with a limited political experience as president ... bad move McCain, very bad ...

Lack of experience and being an outsider is a HUGE plus in my book.

What "experience" does it take to do the right thing.  This isn't rocket science, its the presidency.  Hell, Clinton was even able to do it.

According to McCain, thats why Obama SHOULDNT have beaten Hillary Clinton.  Now he's fucked.

I think you are taking a loss for a win.  But we'll see.

She's also from one of the smallest states population wise.  Even though she's a governer its not saying much.
