EA. not really anything to do with hardware but... the support SUCKS BIG TIME. Even blind monkey could help more with the problems.
Of course it could, they've hired blind, deaf and numb dogs for their customer support!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I recently acquired a Z9100 series notebook (Unsure about exact model, not printed anywhere on it). After reinstalling Windows XP, the WLAN card won't turn on. It seems the WLAN switch (Fn+F2) doesn't work at all. I've looked all over, and there is no other switch. It does not work in Linux, either, leading me to believe it's hardware failure of some sort. Is this a known issue? If so, how can I fix this?

Check if there is a hardware switch on the side of the mashine
And download and install the latest drivers.
Sorry for bump. Both ASUS support and this topic needs it.

Wow, necroposting.

But yeah, ASUS makes fantastic products, but their support is lacking.

And more importantly: understand your policy before trying to get an RMA.

Their support isn't just lacking, it literally sucks. I once had the "black screen issue" and so I made a topic on their tech support forums. I got couple replies from other Asus customers but not by their tech support. Well the topic got DELETED 2 days later.

I found that screaming my head off at the incompetent monkeys who didn't test the computer before sending it to me was highly effective. They even threw in a free mobo. If I had not screamed and told them that they were drunken, dipshit monkeys, I wouldn't have gotten such a fast reply.
