thats very interesting... but do your games/apps run any faster?  I've never really been a fan of benchmarks.

I'd try a game before you get freaked out from one of those tests, they're really inaccurate.

Weird, that doesn't make much sense. Sorry I can't help.

Does your motherboard support a chipset that high? That might be your problem.  Or maybe it's a different build of chip.  AMD has several different builds of the chip that I am using, each one is a little different.

yes it does, i have checked before i bought it..i have run intel diagnostics tools and everything came out good.
I really have no idea what is going on. 3dMark05 was beore 4750 now 2550 ...that is really not what i wanted!
After replacing the power supply for  a 400W one...3dMark05 jumepd to 3682 still more than 1000 less than before I replaced it...could it be a motherboard problem? Abit IS7-E

ok, so after a while searching through the net, I've found out that my old mobo doesn't support my new 3.4GHz CPU and I had to get a new one...I choose ABIT IC7-G MAXII ...hopefully that will be it!

I think you may have waisted your money im pretty sure if you flash your bios with http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/bio … p;model=80 it will work.

A little Confusing - http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/intel-p4.php ?

Finally the new motherboard is installed and after all the tests it looks like it's finaly getting to the numbers i was looking for...5.150 in 3dMark05, sill not what i expected, but better than 2,XXX than before.
Now I have another problem, everytime I'm trying to overclock the CPU, I'm unable to boot from my SATA, bios reads only IDE-1 DVD-RW witch is set as master ...if I use standard settings everything is allright!? What is wrong with that? Anyone? Pls!

Overclocking leads to instability. I think the southbridge controlls IDE/SATA, but if not, then you've pushed the northbridge too fast by increasing the FSB.

Faster clock cycles != more performance. Look up flops.
