After playing a little CS, one of the most memorable features to me was the post-round damage report. At the end of each round you'd get a text overview of what happened: who you hit and/or killed, and who hit and/or killed you. In CS they show every hit, who it was from, and how much damage it dealt. If the shot(s) so happened to kill, the weapon used for the fatal shot would also show up. So for BF2, if you got killed by a G3 headshot after getting 3 kills, the screen could look like:
Attackers (3)
player1/2 hits/40 damage
player2/1 hit/36 damage
player3/1 hit/80 damage/G3A3
Victims (3/25% acc.)
player4/5 hits/100 damage/92FS
player5/3 hits/96 damage/G36E
player6/100 damage/HMMWV
player7/1 hit/19 damage
player8/2 hits/60 damage
The screen wouldn't be blocking anything important. It could be configured to disappear if you got revived, so as not to impede gameplay. It would give you something to look over for those 15 precious seconds between getting pwned and respawning. Since BF2 doesn't have an "aerial cam" or "free look" view even when you're dead, there's no real reason to have nothing but a blank screen (and maybe a nice view of an enemy soldier's gyrating ass, if you're getting teabagged).
It's one of the few touches of elegance and flair missing from BF2 at the moment. I admit it's not a vital improvement, but it would be cool to know that, though you didn't even get a lousy kill damage assist, the guy you were shooting at still knows you hit him at least a couple times.
