may I suggest concentration camps?  They're a very efficient means of sequestering the "undesireables" at minimal cost.
for criminals?

We should probably just kill all convicts.  It would be cheaper, right?

Don't you only inhabit like 1% of your land?

Fuck that. We put one massive chain linked fence around the whole outback, put all the poor people, rich people, liberals, junkies, welfare recipients, homeless, sick, women, children, elderly, unfit people into it.

Light Fire.

Step Away.

That leaves America full of strong young men for breeding. But we killed all our women. And prop 8 passed.

We are now in a bind.

poor people are a burden on society, just like criminals.   so yes, being poor is breaking the law, or it should be.

No you are not, if you were you would agree that people should be held accountable for their actions and decisions. Apparently you do not.

I´d rather have rehabilitation then suffering when it comes down to prison, hand out the rehab needed and try to solve the problem and ofcourse also some kind of punishment, but just the suffering part doesn´t work. If you eliminate the rehab part you will never eliminate the problems that send people to jail.

I know, I just spent 6 months "suffering" instead of beeing rehablitatied.

Which achieves what exactly?
An eye for an eye and we all end up ranting sadistic nutballs.

I would rather have people do something useful, like collecting rattlesnakes.

Already said I am not interested in rehab in criminals, I want them to actually PAY for their crimes. They already knew the difference between right and wrong, and they CHOSE wrong. So be it.

I don't often agree with lowing but I do follow him somewhat on the concept that legal punishment should entail some form of actual punishment and not just rehabilitation... I would stop short of the death penalty though.

I have always wondered, why do we let someone off easy for "attempted murder," or "attempted robbery?"  Does the fact that they were not competent enough to finish it mean they get a break?  I think the act of attempting a crime should carry the same penalty as fully committing it.

Oh, and the death penalty should be expanded.  Murder (willful), forceable rape, child molestation (most severe cases), and cutting me off in traffic.
