Of course nowadays it's another Christian (specifically, American Christianity) tradition like Christmas that everyone celebrates even though they bash Christianity/Religion their whole lives but only celebrate it (like Christmas) because they're a bunch of greedy bastards who don't even have a concept of what they're doing and simply do it, because well, the crowd/sheep effect (greedy bastards also).
However, I think the modern consensus is that it's a day to say thanks to the Natives, so yeah, I agree with Parker, you guys are fucked up if this is how you say thanks considering what happened
