what i learned in school is that the pilgrims and the indians got together and brought food for a giant feast.

dont get me wrong, im going to sit down with the family tomorrow just like everyone else, and stuff myself until i shit my cereal...

so i guess that makes me a hypocrite..i dont know...really a weird holiday for me.

I don't really celebrate the day for what it was sold to us as when we were young. For me thanksgiving is a day to hang out with the family and eat good food(manicotti ftw, to hell w/ turkey!) . Everyone in my family is pretty busy w/ careers and kids anymore so I'm not going to pass the chance to spend time with them. It's pretty hard to get 28 people in the same house for dinner and it's quite a sight to see us at one table(home made)

However, have you also posted such a thread about the Spanich who all but obliterated the native population of central & south america? Perhaps you have also posted a damning article against the Roman Empire for their rolling across (and civilizing) central europe & britain. And where, exactly, is your photo expose of the conquests of china & russia?????

im sorry.
i have direct personal experience with native americans. some of my ancestors had a hand in their demise...this is stuff that i think about every thanksgiving.

please, go on with your pretty thoughts of "clearing out" an entire nation of people.

i wonder what your opinions are regarding the holocaust.....was that just "clearing out" more people, or was that bad? was it bad just because nazis did it, or because innocent people were rounded up and killed?
