For every skinny guy in this thread that can 'eat anything and not get fat' - first of all.. do you have all/most of these traits: "Hard Gainer", delicate built body , flat chest, fragile, lean, lighty muscled, small shouldered and takes longer to gain fat/muscle, if so then you are an ectomorph (google the term). secondly, you're obviously not eating enough for YOUR body type! Yeah, perhaps your massive mate eats not even half of your daily intake yet is still bigger than you and gains weight/muscle easier, this is simply because he has a different body type, most likely mesomorphic.

You are simply not eating enough for your body type, if you really are interested in gaining weight then eat, eat eat!
PS; I'm also a guy with a high metabolism but with a proper gym routine and eating healthy I've gained roughly 20lb in only a few weeks.

If I'l lucky I'll gain 20lb's in a year... I gain maybe 1 pound every 3-4 weeks, this is with exercising every weekday from 9-4, drinking a weight gain shake, eating loads of carbs and gyming it on weekends...

One used to attend the gym 3 times a week, mostly free weights, pre-exhaust workouts and i used to love working out with the olympic bar. Thats now a distant memory, i've still kept a lot of my shape due to a good metabolism and my job is pretty active. I do have plans to go back hardcore at the gym but i keep saying it and never doing it ya know.

I still ride my bike tho, found some great places to ride just recently

I really should find the motivation to join the gym again, i was well into but i guess i burned myself out a little, i even miss those wide arm chin ups! Now that was a real test of physical ability, especially with a 10k weight strapped to you

I didnt even take PE at GCSE, had no interest in it.. I'm not trying to confuse people just help them out - I learnt about things like bodytypes from sites such as bodybuilding.com.

You can only take my word for it, but I am like you, I can still eat alot and not gain weight - I just basically doubled what I'm eating (calorie wise) by having more small meals (6-8) throughout the day instead of 3-4 large ones and cut down on cardio. the things like squash and rock climbing that I do hinder my gains but I love them too much to stop completely   just trying to help Jord.

also.. excercising every weekday from 9-4? no wonder you're not gaining weight! Anything more than about an hour in the gym doesnt really help ya

I do pushups, pullups, and curls and try not to eat too much unhealthy shit. I also smoke a lot of pot and drink a lot of beer.

Same as me. At the minute I'm working on my upper body, weights, pushups, crunches, squats, the plank (< friggin painful for long periods) etc.

The plank seems pointless to me. They make us do it sometimes and it's just a shit version of a stress position. I doubt it makes you much stronger...

I have a 47 inch chest and a 40 inch waist and I consider myself fit and healthy for what I do and when I mainly go to the gym I do high weight and low reps e.g I'll do 7 or 8 120kg dead-lifts to improve strength i'm not bothered if people think im a fat bastard because im happy with who I am. oh and btw I weigh 230 pounds which is very high for my age but I would look hella strange if I only weighed say 150 pounds.

I've always been skinny..

But I Dirt Bike (more physically demanding then you think) and Snowboard mainly.. I also go on the occasional hikes.

I also rave almost every weekend. You try dancing for like 8 hours straight and see how long you last

Lift weights at school for 90 minutes plus Cardio every other day(I try and put at least 20 min. then move up after every week or so).

Oh and sports when it is nice outside(Spring/Summer).

Im on 2 swim teams. Practice 5 times a week +- meets

Mon: 2 hour practice
Tues: 1.5 hour practice (or a ~3 hour meet)
Wed: 2 hour practice
Thurs: 1.5 hour practice (or ~3 hour meet)
Fri: 1.5 hour practice
Sat: Meet sometimes

I switch off practices with both teams... One is high school team and one is a club team. The club team practices in an indoor pool and is more rigorous, but doesnt seem to make me very sore . The high school team is in an outdoor pool which is COLD AS FUCK. To give you an idea, we have to swim in it even when its snowing and the pool deck is frozen over. Its less rigorous but seems to always leave me sore

For meets, some weeks I will have 3 (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), but most of the time I will have 1 or 2 (Tuesday or Thursday)
