I'm looking at 24" monitors and, par my routine, I sorted newegg's selection by rating and went from there. What looks reasonable is the BenQ G2400WD. The only problem I see is that it's TN, though I could probably deal with it as reviews seem to be great (at newegg and elsewhere). If you have any other ideas, this is just about what I'm looking for:

- 1920x1200
- Gaming. I certainly do graphics/coding but if anything is the priority, gaming is it.
- <$350, maybe $400 if the screen is worth it.
- I couldn't give a damn about extras. If it looks good and has a DVI input, I'm happy. Anything else can be jury rigged.
- I'd really love to avoid TN/6-bit panels, but I doubt that'll be easy at my price range.

As mentioned, I usually do Newegg but if you have a great recommendation I'll look around.

Thanks for your help, karma to all.

I'm seeing two versions, the BW and BWX. The only differences I can find is that the BW has a stand that can rotate between landscape and portrait (don't care) and has a matte black frame whereas the BWX is glossy (again, don't care). This sound right to you?

Which one do you have that you seem to dislike?

He's just mad that he paid more for the one he has

The matte finish should make a difference if you have sunlight shining on your PC at some point during the day. There won't be as much glare.

Thanks so far. Turns out my local shop carries the 2443BW so I'll try that tomorrow if I can. Knowing me, if it's at least half decent, I'll probably buy it on impulse but reviews look good so who knows.

I have the BWX and I can't say anything bad about it.  I use it as a TV/monitor at college and it works great, I just got a HDMI->DVI converter and hook my PS3 up when I want to play some console games
