So the other day I went into my local Gamestation, and bought Mirrors Edge and the Half Life 2 Orange box. Both pre-owned, and because of a deal they were doing it was £30.

I got home, settled down for what I thought would be a fun afternoon of Free-running, and beating the crap out of police. I put the disc in and it wouldn't start up, I looked at the disc and whaddayaknow? It's very scratched.

The next day my big brother was going into town so I asked him if he could take them in for a full refund.

He phoned me later on and said that Gamestation had said:

Gamestation wrote:

We can only refund you on Mirrors Edge, because you can't just bring back HL2:OB as well, just 'cause you don't like it. Furthermore, we can only refund you £12.50 on Mirrors Edge.
If you apply ANY sort of logic to this you would fathom out that OK, I should at least receive £15 back for Mirrors Edge.

I'm going into town tomorrow to take it up with them myself, as my brother didn't want to get involved in what is my battle.

Before I do this, I want some sound advice form you guys.

What do you think? Should they be able to get away with refunding me on Mirrors Edge only, and only for £12.50? Or should I go in a kick ass and say "I want my £30 now bitches"

I'll threaten them in saying I'll call Head Office to see what they have to say, and also, my Father is a journalist for two Scottish papers, so I could say I'll get him to write a story about them.

Help is greatly appreciated

I only bought it as it was the only game that interested me vaguely so I could get the two for £30 deal.

Just get them to give you a new CD or download an iso and use your CD key
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

They didn't want to give me a refund on Red Orchestra as I activated the key on Steam. But the game does not work for me! It runs in the background, known issue as I later Goggled. Well it was 9€ but I still almost got in a fight when the salesman got offensive, saying we don't refund money on games and if I'm blind cos I didn't see the sign where it says "No refunds on games" (written on a fucking small paper and hidden from sight)

You wont get them to take both back.

A. Because it was an offer that has probably ended and was meant for the jan sale.
B. Because they don't want the HL2 game pre-owned back simply because you want the deal back. They lose out, it's a second hand game in the first place.
C. You wont get more for the pre-owned game because it's pre owned and they are bound by no legality to replace it or give you a full refund.

Get over it.

I payed £30 for two games, common sense derives that it was £15 a game.

If I bought Mirrors Edge on it's own, then I would have paid £19.99.

How can they only give me £12.50 back?

Is HL2:OB xbox aswell? I so tell them it is your legal right to get 14 day returns on such purchases, if you don't like it you are perfectly legally allowed to return it aslong as its within 14 days.

If its PC HL2:OB they won't take it back if it has been opened as the cd key can have been used.

They may want to argue with you about the pre-owned state though.

lol dont get me started on Pc world.

Is it me or does Game seem like the only "professional" video game store in the UK. Gamestation just seems so amateurish, their stores are always well fugly and badly organised with far too many displays shoved into the stores.

HuMVee is where its at, fallout 3 brand new for £20 pretty much when it came out, not sale or anything

i was pretty much

then i bought it

but then again they had forza 2 there for £50 like 2 months ago so it looks like they may have given the pricing gun to someone who has trouble dressing themselves in the morning
