Ok, you want pure stats?
Ronaldo has played 22 games this season ( unsure what this includes, but nearly everything ) and has scored 10 goals.
Messi, on the other hand, has made 17 APPEARANCES and scored 20 goals. That's double the amount he has scored in less games. More than a 1 goal per game ratio. Better much?
Messi has also made more than double the assists in a game compared to Ronaldo. When most needed, Ronaldo has NOT performed and won the game for Manchester United. Whereas Messi has ( examples? Hat trick against Atletico, 84th minute winner against Osasuna, Superb goal against Madrid, scored the winner against Shaktar to make sure they go through whilst coming on as a sub, scored the important equaliser against Basel and scored the important goals against Sevilla ).
Ronaldo has been tagging alongside a very strong team this year. He has done nothing to win a game or change the game outright, Messi has. His ability to suddenly turn on the pressure and control a game is incredible, Ronaldo has been quiet this year, shadowed by a powerful duo upfront and a strong midfield.
