Hello BF2 world.
i ain't posted on here for what seems like forever. Anyway, I've played 2142 and COD4 since in leagues etc.
But me and my friend were talking the other day whilst having a drink in a boozer and we both toasted BF2. We had a huge conversation about what that game was, how good it was, and amongst all the crap that surrounds it (moaning etc.), we enjoyed publics on BF2 like no other. I wasn't at all a big BF2 clan player, I played clanned, but public was amazing. So much fun and we both agreed that it was possibly the only game we prefer public than clanned and thought surely others may feel the same.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting, is because of one of the things we chatted about and thought I'd see the BF2 world views.
So, looking back, at all the critism and slagging of EA / Dice for rushing stuff, fucking stuff up etc. and comparing it to games since, or even before. What would ur overall look on the game be.
Personally, I think as soon as they stopped noob tubers, jumping and shooting at same time, and the option to take vehicles off (only drawback is no - vehicles on search, just inf! - lol), the game was as close to perfect as a game could be without being a total prat and saying 'this needs tweaking etc'.
My hat goes off to DICE, and EA for having a team in it's midst that can produce such a game.
Nothing has come close for modern warfare, nothing has rivalled what it can do (full on war if u have 32 v 32 etc), and nothing has left me with so much memories and fun I had on that game.
Best maps: Karkand, Mashtuur, Dragon Valley, Sharqui
Worst maps: Kubra Dam, Zatar Wetlands, Wake Island (Based on I was never a big plane flyer!)
*Special mention: Most underused map: Operation Clean Sweep (noone ever played it as much, the svrs I always found had no more than 15 peeps sometimes)
Most remembered common situation: Stalemate on Karkand where US are the "good side of the river / railway" and the Insurgants are the "shit side" of the river. - Usually always happened, and when u made it across it on a good server, u needed to keep ur head or nick a jeep and DRIVE! like u stole it! to capture a flag or go round running people over with a gunner killing too!
A loving appreciation also goes out to the Special Forces addon. BIG LOVE!!! (Warlord FTW!)
A mention of "u could of gave it us free!!!" goes to the "Bolster packs!"
