Just came across this article:

Netanyahu promises: My gov't will keep Jerusalem united

Here's one of the quotes:

"We did not return to Jerusalem after praying for it to be rebuilt for 2000 years in order to give it up," Netanyahu told a throng of reporters from around the world at the City of David. "We did not unite the city in order to divide it, and my government will maintain a united Jerusalem. A sane country does not give its capital to its enemies."

So if i read correctly , that guy consider the relatively peaceful arabs and muslims of Jerusalem its enemies? We are not talking about Hamas "terrorists" here.. we are talking about regular palestinians trying to make a living peacefully.

This guy is leading in the polls..does that mean that most israelis agree with the fact that all palestinians are the enemies?

Anybody think that with that leading the state of israel, peace will be possible?

I think it is utterly retarded of Netanyahu to come out and say such a thing at this point. He is obviously trying to secure conservative votes for the upcoming election, but to use such a contentious issue as Jerusalem as a way to garner votes is not very smart. I am hopeful that this ignorant stance on an important bargaining chip in the MidEast peace process does not become the deciding factor in Israeli elections, because it will be a step back for realizing peace in the region.

Given the recent war thing they've had the people most likely want a hardliner who'd do all in his power to protect Israel's position.

They certainly are, however if people choose to migrate to a country they know was created by stealing someone elses and they know has been run by aggressive Zionists and will likely continue to be I don't really have a lot of sympathy.
They are free to elect a government comitted to peace but they don't.

Israelis want peace, but on their terms only, if they aren't prepared to make any kind of compromise they can't really claim to want peace that much.
Its like the New Yorkers migrating to West Bank 'settlements' and saying 'I just want to live in peace'.
Sorry, they don't convince me of their pure intentions.
