I think my beloved mouse may be dying

The LMB clicks really awkwardly now, like there's some friction somewhere inside it.

Is it worth taking it apart to try and fix it?

Logitechs tend to die often. Mine died too. Worth taking it apart? Dunno is there anything else you can do? Warranty still active?

It says here theres a 3 year warranty

this could vary ofc but you still have chances. You should check your receipt and see how long the warranty actually is

Not a chance i still have the same reciept.

And i can't afford a new mouse, so if i open it and i fuck it up more i'm screwed.

Was just wondering if i had any chance of fixing it really.

Ehm, is it me or all logitech devices tend to fail fucking fast???!

I had one mouse and two joysticks. They all died.

My Logitech mouse lasted way less than my HP PS/3 Optical mouse. This mouse is nearly 5 years old. And its still kicking.

Sorry, i digressed. Anyway, take it apart at your own risk. Do you have any tools? *If you want spare parts, if i can find my old MX1000 i will send you that FOC*

Yeah, i'll google some guides and report back. All i have with me are various screwdrivers, so i'll see what happens.

Will keep you all posted

If you want to hang tight, PM me an address to send this MX1000 to, the only thing it did was stop charging and i wanted a new mouse anyway so i didn't try to repair. If you are lucky, you should just be able to take both mice apart and insert your battery into my MX1000 and jobs a good'un.

That guide is useful for showing how to strip the MX1000, you won't have to piss about soldering tho if you have a genuine battery to install. Otherwise there are links there as to how to locate a replacement battery.

Cheers baggs, i was reading some tech forums and a lot of MX users said if logitech is satisfied the mouse is on it's last legs, it's not uncommon for them to replace/upgrade for free. I've fired a support email off to them, i'll wait on the response.
