Help me hax the school computers

School computers are so strict on what's limited, no right click, no windows + whatever shotcuts, not allowed to edit internet explorer options, no .exe files allowed to be executed.. the list goes on and on.

So I'm asking you, what could I try to do? I just want some freedom on the computers, and yes I do realise if I get caught it'll probably have the opposite effect, but I want some fun.

If you can get shit like torrent clients to work, or maybe f@h etc, that would be shit hot.

(We've got ~50 quad core CPUs, ~200 dual core, ~50 Pentium Ds in this joint, imagine the PPD. Although I'm currently typing on a Pentium D (no idea what speed - no dxdiag) with a 16" TFT screen QQ.

tl;dr help me have fun on limited school computers.

Ehh spose... I might ask them, but I really wanna get Bittorrent or the likes going. 1Mb/s connection speed is win.

Simplest method would be a live linux CD + USB stick for files

I wouldn't recommend fah'ing without permission. There have been cases of getting your stats reset and even trouble with the police. Well worth trying to convince the school though ...

Give F@H a shot. It's educational and helps the world. I mean, if you guys got quad cores that are not really using their potential, it should be pretty easy to do it. I imagine you can throttle the computers with F@H that the program gives CPU power back to the user when the computer is actually being put under stress, right???

Yep - got banned from the school library suite for using a proxy.. as for haxing your school computers - try downloading Firefox portable (put it on a memory stick) and try and run it from your library computers. Who administers your network? eg C2K.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Bring your own laptop to school, get wireless network access to the school's internet connection.

All of the colleges/universities I've gone to, the wireless access was either included in your student fees (i.e. free) or was a token fee like $10/month.

lol, We do that now with Starcraft, someone put a copy of the files deep into the bowels of one of the "Hand In Homework" Network drives, so now, every time you walk by a programming class, all you see is a wall of people playing Starcraft, and a teacher that really doesn't give a shit XD
