I live in the US on the east coast and I have heard conflicting stories about who is entitled to get unemployment benefits and wanted to ask everyone what the rules are.
I know that if you quit a job, for any reason, you are not able to apply for unemployment benefits or am I wrong?
What about getting fired from a job and what reasons would still allow someone to get unemployment benefits?
Like if I come in stinky drunk and throw my feces at my boss etc or if I just quit doing a good job or call in sick 5 times a week etc.
The only time I have ever collected unemployment benefits was 8 years ago and it was because I was laid off because my job got sent over seas so I have zero knowledge on this subject and any info you guys post will be greatly appreciated.
My goal is to get fired and be able to qualify for benefits so I can finish some training which will enable me to get a much better job with much better pay. I do not plan on being a deadbeat for very long, just long enough to accomplish my goal.
thanx again for any info that gets posted.
