well my question is...how is this not an act of war? they hold about 100 people hostage due to this stuff. ya i know they have no real govt......but does that really matter?

Ppl need to start looking at this as war and arm ships that are traveling these waters like they did in WW2.

Unfortunately it would take something like that to galvanise the US into doing something, you have to admit though, alot of attacks have happened but I don't think I've ever heard yet of the Pirates actually killing anyone
Apparently the story goes that the Captain put himself in as a Hostage to free the rest of the crew and that's how they took over the ship, so it was a case of one guy (the Captain) having some serious balls + negotiation skills rather than brooms vs T-55's

C) Makes the most sense. It's the ships crew who choose not to bring weapons with them, because it delays a journey because they have to pass more thorough inspections by anti-arms trafficking regulations, etc.
