I would have loved to be there, but what are the chances of survival? Unfortunantly it's not always skill, it's mostly luck. Like you have to hope the MG guy is going to aim at the landing craft next to you and not yours, or stuff like that.
But Normandy in terms of capturing was nothing compared to what the Marines and some Army units in the Pacific had to face.
I wonder if there's any soldiers that went through the whole war and all the landings and stuff. Chances are somewhat slim.
