Well, you want to pick a server as close to you as possible. Cause that way you know it's as slow as the connection would get(not taking into account contention or anything like that). The broadband you have likely states how on paper you have a faster connection than 22MB maybe at around 25MB. But you're only getting effectively 22mb from it, the closer you are to the actual ISP centre that's providing you the service the faster actual speeds will be to what you wanted. When you got the broadband it would have said this in fine print:) *Actual speeds may vary* or something very similar would be the way it was put.farmerfez wrote:

Just run ipconfig from a cmd prompt, that'll show the gateway address, which'll be the address of the router.

Also, why do they use different IP's? Is it a router manufacturers decision or is it one by the ISP? I've always wondered that.
