I am currently in the market for a ~ 2000 DKK netbook and looking at the following, but they all seem to have their own lacks/flaws.

Acer Aspire One @ 2000 DKK
- No Bluetooth
- Ram upgrade is VERY difficult
- Only 8,9" display as opposed to the ~10" of the other two
+ Cheapest of the 3

MSI Wind U120 @ 2300 DKK
- No SO-DIMM slot for ram upgrades
+ Wireless N (draft)
+ Good price
++ 6cell battery

Lenovo Ideapad S10e @ 2000-3000 DKK
+ Best looks
+ 2 Year warranty as opposed to the standard 1 year of the others
+ Easily upgradeable (wireless card, ram, harddrive & even a PCMCIA slot for unlimited connectivity options or cheap SSD's)
- 1024x576 native resolution causing compability issues with some software
- Idiotically changing prices (1999 at sale in a store where i went only to be told "we don't have them right now, even though they are in our catalogue for this week", I mean, WTF... Now I can't find one on the web below 3000DKK and I can get one WITH a 3g modem for 2800 in a store that is usually expensive X_x) (btw 3G modems usually mean a +800 DKK price tag )

Currently I actually prefer the Lenovo, had the MSI had upgradeable ram it would be my obvious winner, but tbh I very much doubt the Build quality of the MSI aswell... and the 2 year warranty of the lenovo is a big + aswell... now I just hope the stupid store sorts their offers up, they had shown in a leaflet that they had a "s10" but below were listed the specs of the s10e, and prices on the S10e are BONKed here in Denmark atm

I am planning on putting a Kingston KHX5300S2LLK2/2G (HyperX) memory module into whichever notebook I choose, I want to run windows 7 on it with Aero enabled, so >1Gb is a must.

Lenovo makes sturdy laptops.  Given a couple of reformats now and then, they'll last far longer than you'll want them for, so for a long-term investment, go for it (seen some ancient ones around still working just fine).

But make sure you reformat over the install they give you - there's tons of useless utilites and programs you'll never need or use.  They won't give you reformat disks - a part of your hard drive is partitioned off for this.  Annoying as hell.

I know mate, I just go for a cleanup instead of a total reformat tbh...... hate bloatware

The Compaq & HP mini notes have HORRIBLE keyboards... unless you use the two finger system, the keys are useless...

It's not a mini note, it's a presario, it's got a pretty much normal sized keyboard, with a numpad.

There are more than those two companies that make netbooks, samsung has a decent range of them too.

specifically look up the NC10, N120, N130 and if you can find it the N110 (the NC10 is the older model, the others are brand new).

Then it is far too big... I am looking at 9-10 incher's here, as in, netbooks... not notebooks with 15-17" screens

Mate please explain to me why the heck I would need HDMI out on a Netbook with an Atom CPU... tbh I can't even tell the difference between DVI/Analog on my Desktop @ samsung T200 display

The samsungs are far more expensive than the other brands if you compare their specs.. (they are in denmark atleast)

Mate, there is no apparent difference (unless ofcourse you have the wires rolled around a conductor or something to fuck up the analog signal)... I even ran analog on my "old" 5:4 LG flatron on purpose just because it could not run battlefield in it's native res. on DVI

and tbh, the only thing a netbook can run sensibly when it comes to external monitors is a projector @ 1024x768, and analog is more than adequate for that

You must have gone from a crappy Analog display to a Supa' DVI display tbh
let me guess... CRT -> LCD ?

VGA/DVI are interchangeable if you have a decent monitor & GPU imho...

You are still the only one I have ever heard claim "lulz teh differenz iz ubviouz"....

It is not.. as long as all the pixels are showing what they are meant to show there is no damn difference between the connectors...

Are you saying you do not notice the difference between DVI and D-SUB connection? Sorry, that is impossible, is your monitor void or something?

Plus CRT monitors have generally better image than LCD monitors.

so you can change a DVI with a DVI with no difference? ORLY ?

I see no need for HDMI since a netbook is not a friggin media center nor do I need sound output for my PC monitor

I lol'd

+ Monitor is fine.. if you use same setup and plug a DVI-D-SUB adapter on both ends of a analog cable there is no difference in image quality over a stock DVI cable... I have yet to see it for myself, or any other person who can tell the difference...

We missunderstood each other. DVI can be used with digital and analog components while VGA can only be used with Analog devices. Same with audio cables.

Why do you need a Netbook if you're not going to output video or sound?

Uh, to do what netbooks are made for?

Note's
On-the-go desktop replacement
Browsing
etc.

What I call "VGA" is a D-sub and "DVI" is a, well, DVI

Must have been a shit CRT you have been using. Any decent CRT monitor has a better image than a TN panel LCD monitor.
